Riverbend Festival Bath Fairground. New-Brunswick
For several years now, we’ve been fortunate enough to attend the hot air balloon festival in the Bath region (Florenceville-Bristol) in New Brunswick. This local event, which features about fifteen hot air balloons, offers flights in the morning and evening, weather permitting. There are also magical nights when the balloons are inflated in the early evening but remain tethered to the ground like giant Chinese lanterns. In addition to the hot air balloons, the festival also features a lumberjack competition, car shows, and live music performances.
The festival usually takes place over the Labor Day long weekend, making it an ideal outing for families and showcasing the region’s local crafts as well as its magnificent landscapes. And what can we say about our flights over the river!
These splendid morning flights, dotted with a light mist, where we have the unique chance to follow the river, create a completely enchanting and idyllic setting. We can confidently say that these flights are on our list of the best flights we’ve ever taken! Surrounded by hot air balloons, we almost seem to skim the water’s surface and follow the current, blending the four elements—air, water, earth, and fire—that carry us through all these picturesque, naturally pristine landscapes, which give this unique festival its charm.
We simply cannot overlook the kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality of the people who welcome us! Whether it’s the organizers, the staff, the festival-goers, or the local businesses… We feel so welcome, even after all these years, that every visit feels like coming home.
