Festival Atlantic Balloon fiesta, Sussex. New-Brunswick

Once the Riverbend Festival in Bath is over, we head to another part of New Brunswick. This time to Sussex, also in New Brunswick, about an hour from the city of Saint John.

This festival has been around since 1985 and has, over time, become the largest festival in the Atlantic region. It started as a gathering of local pilots and has evolved into a gathering of pilots and hot-air-balloon enthusiasts from all over the world. As it has grown, the festival has expanded its activities to include skydiving demonstrations, helicopter rides, music performances, rides, “Touch a Truck”-style open houses where people can meet experts who talk about their jobs and their unique vehicles, not to mention its diverse food court and its artisanal market area—both outdoors and indoors—featuring the popular “Indoor Market” where you can find everything handmade by local artisans.

Every year, this event generates extraordinary excitement. You only have to look at the crowds flocking to the site morning and night to watch the flights take off… What an atmosphere! It’s always wonderful to see how people come from all over to attend the festival and take the time to meet us and fly with us. The people of Sussex await us and welcome us with such warmth that we’re always so happy to return and add a splash of color to their beautiful landscapes. For us, it’s a pleasure to reunite with our Atlantic Ballooning family and share the sky with them time and time again.
